Neither is likely worth much. Copper cents (prior to 1982) go for ~3¢ each unless they look brand new or are rare (earlier dates). I would guess you might get 5¢ for the steel cent. Fair Indian cents (at least a readable date) go for ~$1.00 retail meaning you might get 25¢. That 1859 might go for more.

Have another question...what do the letters mean underneath their heads? Looks like the letters are MP.
    Thank you

Um... was trying to log out for the day and not sure how but came across a message. Said I have a trophy? Not sure what exactly this means, I hope it's not for asking dumb questions. Last message for the week & just a few pictures.

My advice, read the RED BOOK. This is the best way to get an understanding of how they value/rate coins. A steel penny is not very valuable to my knowledge. As you said, a couple of dollars...

Many times, the artists initials are on coins.

Never feel bad for asking questions, that is how I learn on this site. Everyone is so kind....Best of luck, and keep asking questions. There are many experts on here that can answer your questions....just not me. I am still learning myself.

Isn't it fun to find a coin and get excited. I love this hobby!

Not necessarily. It depends on the date, mint, and condition of the coin. Some are only worth a cent. Your 1943 is only worth a cent if it's in such poor condition that you can barely read the date, for example. You'd be best off starting a new thread, preferably with good pictures, to get more specific advice.

About the 1946 yellowish gold colored wheat penny no mint Mark? Is it rare?

Hi I acquired a 1944 D penny today March 28th 2019, now at the bottom on the obverse side along the rim there is VDB stamped into it. I can't seem to find that anywhere on the internet do I have an error coin?
