There's some info here about the notes with the hand/thorn bush Colonial Currency: A Project of the Robert H. Gore, Jr. Numismatic Endowment University of Notre Dame Department of Special Collections
RickieB; I have a note from the same bank ( The State Bank of New Brunswick) but mine is patented three years after yours, a different look altogether. It also was printed by the National Bank Note Company as opposed to yours by the American Bank Note Company. The cashier signatures are the same however. I don't have much history on it and was wondering if you could PM me with any information you have on the bank and years of operation. I'm basically a coin guy, so my personal library on this type of collectible is very limited.
Krispy, your a human search engine ! Do you work for Google, you are amazing at your speed to find a link . What search engines do you use for these insightful answers & links ?:thumb:
Gosh! Thanks... I am rather a Google nut! LOL. As a tool for finding information, logistics (mapping), analytics, books, documents, image file storage, multi-language translation and search... Google it is just endlessly impressive to me. Of course not everything is ON-line and we still need our books and social relationships to share knowledge and experience... I always loved using search databases, inter-library loan systems, hunting through college library stacks, micro-fiche... Google sort of brings it all together. I have a vast amount of nested folders in my browser bookmarks as you might imagine. :smile However, in this instance, I already had a few select book marks I'd come across on the subject of Colonial currency. I am interested in the early printed examples of our currency but haven't gotten into collecting anything yet since I have very little knowledge about that area of paper money collecting. I haven't bought the Krause book The early paper money of america by Eric Newman yet but it's near the top of my books-to-buy and reading list. I keep seeing intriguing examples of early notes and have studied some of them in Heritage's auction archives. My FRN district collection, interest in Silver Certificates, modern notes technological advancements and general ABNCo interests have greatly expanded my paper collection knowledge. The early currency is another mystery that I need more education on so is a goal of mine going forward and will likely soon add to my list of wants...
I just recently bought a 1907 20$ gold certificate graded very good 7 these notes showing on here are spectacular.

Bob you've been holding out on us! You have quite a few beautiful old notes! Is that $1 Mechanics note "No. 4444" technically a repeater?
