I have this old Rhode Island Obsolete bank note unsigned & not dated,I think it's my oldest U.S. Note, anyone know approx. date of this R.I. note? Let see your oldest U.S. Notes,U.S. Currency,Obsoletes/fractionals,MPCs ..etc.
The oldest I could find of the same basic design, but from a different bank, was signed and dated 1805. I don't have any reference books on obsoletes but i'm sure someone will know. Nice note.
Thanks ,that's older then I thought. I have no references on New England Notes,R.I. to compare with.Bought in an Australian Auction long time ago & don't have the Catalog Listing description.
You are sending mixed messages - you are asking for "US Note" but showing this picture. "US Note" has specific meaning in this forum, you know. It is not an equivalent to "US paper money".
Note/paper Money/any us currency , MPCs ,sorry for the confusion.I'll edit the post so there is no mistaken "mixed Messages". Just thought it would be nice to see some older (all of the above).
Nice thread Connor1...was reading it and thought I would stop in and post as few as well. Thanks for the PM's and emails...sorry I have not replied, I have been out of the Country for some R&R.. RB
Well I have nothing prior to a $2 Series 1917 note, but I've been following along as I knew this thread would fill up with some amazing pieces. Beautiful examples. I really like the reverse of the TWO note Rick. Glad to see you dropped by tonight also. :smile
