I have a 1943 5 Lire Vatican City (KM37), it is a WWII coin with a mintage of 1,000. But since I am a world wide collector, with a range of 1900 to 2020, I have thousands of different KM types (approaching 14 thousand), I am not totally sure! I have them all inventoried on Numista but there is no search feature for mintage. All lot of them have unlisted mintages. Perhaps I need to change my forum on CT?
Well, mintage doesn't mean all that much without demand. Lots of coins nobody wants had a low mintage. But you are correct, us "Morgan Guys" cant post much in terms of low mintage. But we can post a lot in terms worth! Some very nice coins posted here, regardless of demand a cool coin is a cool coin!
No, because there are no official mintage figures for specific VAMs. There aren't even official mintage figures for the various different major 1878 reverses. There are only estimates as to how many of any given die pair were made. There are sparse records of die usage, and some of those show that they produced in the low-mid 4-digits, but we can't be sure which ones they are.
I think my lowest is probably one of my classic commemoratives, but off the top of my head I know the 1997 Matte Jefferson nickel I have is one of 25000.
Nice coin! And yep, all Morgan proofs are under 1300 minted. I think there are some branch mint proofs with fewer than 10 known ... not sure if there are mintage records on these though. Cal
Mine is a 1863 proof three cent silver at 460 mintage or my 1872 Three cent silver (regular circulation) with a mintage of 1000 (Pictured. Scratches are on the holder)
I probably have even lower but my favorite is a Haitian 100 G silver 1977 Statue of Liberty in Proof; mintage- 214 pcs. Lowest mintage regular issue is a Gem Guatemalan 1/4 Q 1951; mintage 11,000. I've also got a Gem '09-S Philippine 1c. A lot of my modern stuff is actually very low mintage and I don't have many pre-'65 coins.
