I am surprised that no one has yet mentioned the Saint Gaundens Double Eagle. It's my favorite US coin design, but I will never own one. Yikes, I could get a classic car for less. My favorite that I can actually afford is the Peace Dollar. Here's four that I inherited along with two Morgans I also inherited.
1. Buffalo Nickel Type 1 2. Buffalo Nickel Type 2 3. Walker Half Fairly predictable choices, since I've listed the two series I collect. Outside of those, I like the Mercury dime design and Peace dollar designs a lot. Flowing hair and draped bust designs from the past and the Indian head eagle as shown above are also very nice.
In order: Bust Dollar- heraldic eagle Modern buffalo gold/silver St gauden w/o motto Morgan proof Voyager Canada silver dollar
My favorite is the Buffalo Nickel: But, I also think this is a rather stunning design, too: I also enjoy the Morgan Dollar, Mercury Dime, Standing Liberty Quarter, Walking Liberty Half, the list goes on... but the Buffalo Nickel is such a classic American design, I can't help but love it!
My favorite design; The reverse commemorates the biggest technological accomplishment in human history up until that point. Humans landing and walking on the moon. The obverse: Commemorates One of the Americans responsible for help save America from being taken over by foreign powers that would have put an end to the American way of life as we know it. allowing us the ability to go forward and accomplish landing on the moon.
Basically the designs from 1917-1930. Walker half, Standing quarter (meh), Mercury dime, Buffalo nickel.
My first would have to be the wheat pennies and then second would have to be any of the liberty seated coins.
I like the Goose best. Its clean and uncluttered. And is peaceful not warlike. A close 2nd the Springbuck for the same reasons.
