Sorry, but they just didn't leave enough room for that design to breathe. It looks cramped and sort of like a 'beta test'. It could have been done better.
Half Dollar - Kennedy to be exact. Not for any political reason it is what I started looking for in the wild as a kid. Not everyone likes them but I do and I learn more everyday.
I love the wheat cent since it was the first type of coin that I collected as a child. Recently, I'm moving to the collector pucks. I like the ATB designs on a big silver background. Great stuff from the mint.
If those are the only choices? (Hate to nitpick, but you're really asking what's your favorite denomination, not you're favorite coin lol...) Well I'd have to say half dollar, partly because of sentimental reasons (it was the sight of a Kennedy half dollar that got me interested in coin collecting in the first place) and partly because there's just something satisfying about holding a coin that size that's hard to put into words. I always keep a half dollar in my wallet as a pocket piece lol... something comforts me about knowing it's there.
My favourite U.S. coins all have one thing in common, which Catbert's picture post emphasizes....the beautiful US Eagle!! Whether it's on silver, or gold I can't resist.
