[QUOTE="Stevearino, post: 8000424, member: 74571"]My recent experience in crossing over eight ICG coins into PCGS slabs was not as successful as some of you have experienced. I was hoping to get a bump in grade for at least a few of the eight; no such luck. I cracked all eight out of the ICG slabs and sent the coins in raw. The following five received identical grades at PCGS as the original ICG slabs. No photos as there was exact agreement between the two TPGs. 1859 Indian cent, MS62; 1830 Bust Half, AU53; 1855-S Seated Half, G06; 1922-D Peace dollar, MS64 1932-S Wash. Quar., MS63 The remaining three were a mixed bag: 1) The ICG 1885 Indian Cent MS64 RB came back Unc. Details, Questionable Color. I'm taking a big hit on this one. 2) 1952-D Lincoln Cent, MS67 RD came back MS65 RD. No big deal, but taking a hit on this one, too. 3) An 1877-S Trade Dollar F15 came back VF25. A small gain. Considering the PCGS fees, I am through trying to guess the grades by means of photos of ICG-graded coins on auction sites and submitting to PCGS. My brief foray cost me several hundred dollars, I'm guessing. Below are photos of the three coins that did not cross exactly.
