Here are the latest photographed coins I've pulled from my collection of "errors" that I'm going through. I've attempted to adjust the photos a little bit so you don't have to scroll through so many. As always, your input/opinions are appreciated. 1. 2010 Dime with possible cud on chin 2. 1941 Wheat Cent, possible obverse through grease? I had it listed as "brockage" 3. 1930 Buffalo with what I wrote was a "fallen letter" on the reverse 4. 1955 Wheat Cent with a possible cud on the letter T
4. 1955 Wheat Cent with a possible cud on the letter T on reverse and potential lamination error on his head?
Gentlemen, I appreciate the likes, but I'd love to hear your input, i.e.: 1. PMD 2. struck through 3. PMD 4. coin crud
1. Die Chip-It seems I see this most often on dimes. 2. I would agree struck through grease. 3. I have no idea. 4. Another die chip on the "T" and I can't tell if its a lamination or a die crack.
I think that the Buff is PMD from what appears to be gouges on the rim that eventually flattened from circulation. IMHO, small die chips are very common and of little interest. (No offense intended.) Chris
You know, you might be onto something about the gouges flattening out over time. I hadn't considered that simply because it was so S-shaped. No offense taken on the die chips. I didn't make the coins, or pay for them, so I'm not personally invested in their error-ness. I just thought that one was funny because it made it look like he had a zit on his chin. If I had the tools/abilities, I'd turn that one into a hobo witch. Thank you for your input.
Gentlemen, I appreciate the likes, but I'd love to hear your input, i.e.: 1. PMD -- possible die chip. 2. struck through -- possible struck thru grease, NOT a "brockage" 3. PMD -- yes 4. coin crud yes. Note: A 'CUD' MUST include the rim
Good to know on cuds and that they must include the rim. I'll be sure to write die chips on them. #4 is definitely extra metal on the coin and part of the coin, not PMD. I'll accept that as being a die chip. #3 goes back into my excess buffalo nickel bin.
1. I cannot tell for sure, but I am guessing struck through a loose piece. 2. PMD and struck through grease, NOT a "brockage" 3. PMD 4. T is PMD and it looks like lamination on his head.
So I've concluded: 1. Most likely Die Chip 2. Struck through grease or PMD 3. PMD 4. PMD on T and Lamination on the front. Andrew
