i found a 1901 IHC in a big bucket of change. my great grandmother started throwing change in big pepsi bottle piggy-banks, these things were 3 feet tall, i remember seeing them as a kid. she had 5 fully filled and another one halfway. she saved in them from 1920-1960's. she was a coin collector and knew that the modern change in that day could be worth something in the future. well around '94 a year after she passed, some guys robbed my grandmothers house. they got away with the change! no clue how they carried all them piggy banks out or what they did with them, because they got caught. one of the only things we didn't get back was them.

i could only imagine what was in the ones she filled up in the 20's and even 30's! who knows there could have been an S-vdb in there, seeing how my great grandfather traveled to cali for his business from 1903-129!

o what could have been! but the IHC was the oldest i have found. oldest nickel i have found is a 38-D, oldest dime is a 44 mercury, oldest quarter is debatable.. i found a small hoard of silver washingtons, 3 full rolls. they were given to me, by my girls mom. we didn't know they were silver, but figured they were part of her step dads old collection. if that don't count then the 1914-D morgan, i got in a roll. i don't think i ever got a dollar coin in change or a half dollar for that matter.
