What's the oldest coin, what's the oldest coin that affordable?

The Ionians are in a form, even if a crudely formed lump that was fully intended to be a trading instrument. The dolphins may or may not have started out as amulets - unfortunately nobody has been able to establish what the intent was when they began being made.
