I have an American Gold Eagle worth about $1500-$1600, but my most valuable non-bullion coin is probably worth about $20.
In this case they did. The reason I was able to pick this up so cheaply was it's condition at the time. It looked VF to the casual observer.
There are some really good coins in ANACS holders This SBA dollar is struck on a copper cent planchet. I found it at the 2009 Los Angeles ANA show in a white ANACS holder graded MS64 RD. It still resides in the ANACS holder. I had a 1912-S V nickel in an ANACS MS65 holder but it had an active spot removed & now resides in a PCGS MS65 holder.
Far and away the best coin I ever owned in an ANACS coin was also a United States error coin. Was an MS65 Jefferson nickel struck over a Lincoln penny. The unusual thing about it being that it wasn't struck over a raw cent planchet, but was struck over a cent that had already been struck. You could see the columns of the Lincoln Memorial in Jefferson's cheek. Purchased from a dealer at a show for $100 and sold a week later via eBay for nearly $600. I was absolutely certain it was worth more than 100 when I bought it, but had no idea how much more. Only way to find out was to sell it, and it goes without saying I was pretty happy with the outcome!
6 cent piece Here is one of mine. Sorry the photo is a little washed-out due to the reflection off the 2x2 plastic window. (This one is not in an ANACS holder) :eating:
That is a cool error but because it is only a 6 center, I would have to discount it compared to the going price for the 11 centers of $8 million!
I believe one or two of my "11 centers" are in ANACS holders. I've had them for 20+ years. I was pretty sure the SBA on a cent planchet was the most valuable coin I have in an ANACS holder. However, if someone offers millions for my 11 cent pieces, then I gladly stand corrected.
It would be my 1946-D RPM #10. as I was noted as the person who found the 1 MS-grade.I found by accident looking for a new 46-D/S http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1946&die_id=1946d1mm010&die_state=lds
Typical of why US businesses are failing , wanting to buy the name for instant credibility but don't take on any responsibility one reason I'll never use ANACS again .
WoW(!) Nearly identicle to the one I had, except yours has more of the cent showing through. The reverse on mine was nearly normal aside from being the wrong color, and the columns were much fainter.
I don't have a lot of ANACS coins anymore, and few that are worth significant value. Most of my ANACS coins have been crossed to PCGS or NGC. But this one's my favorite..
It's either a 1770 Pillar Dollar in AU-53 or an 1801 S-223 cent in F12. I also have an 1804 Dollar in an ANACS EF-40 holder. Alas, it's a Bank of England Trade Dollar.
Here 1 more that maybe a 1964 SMS ??? instead of PR-65 Heavy hair accents Rim is not like a normal Proof 1964 Kennedy,if you lop it.
