You've taken, or are taking the steps for proper storage, and that's certainly a step in the right direction. But what about the coin that started this discussion, what do you do with it ?

The fact that you started this thread and asked the questions you did indicate to me that it bothers you, or at the least that you would would prefer that the coloration, whatever it is or is not, not be there. But there is an easy solution for you. As suggested earlier in this thread, simply sell it and buy one you are happy with. It's a common coin and easily obtained.
