For example, were you aware that the very first book about coins ever printed was printed in 1511, and to top it off it was written by a woman ! That makes it one of the earliest books ever printed - and yet it was about coins ! That seems to indicate to me a pretty active interest in the hobby and illustrates the level of importance for such a book. By the way, copies of this book still exist.</p><p><br /></p><p>And for centuries before that books about coins were written by hand, just like all other books were because the printing press was not even invented until 1453.
