I love some of the material in the beginning and I just started flipping through it! I think it was a really good buy for the price.

Thanks for the recommend! I will have to pick up a copy of this title too.
It seems a really decent price for such a large volume and with so many color illustrations as well as being hard cover.

Just to get away from US currency based books.
Apart from the Standard Krauss catalogs for coins and banknotes here are the only other two reference books I have.
Thai Coins (fortunately in Thai/English) and Thai Banknotes (unfortunately in Thai only but my wife translates when needs be) very handy for ID-ing signature types and order of issue.

The Whitman Book by Bowers looks very interesting. I found it on Amazon - I'll order one next payday. I also found an interesting account/id on flickr. Numismatic Bibliomania Society's photostream. They have a few nice snapshots of different sections of the book and a number of other numismatic books as well.

It's funny how you can tell many of the books even though they have no words on the side or are spiral bound :D

There are some great book collections here, at least I know I'm not the only one accumulating a book collection along with my coin/note collection haha.

As you can imagine, we have a large collection of numismatic references at Heritage Auctions.

Additionally, I have an extensive personal numismatic book collection that encompasses coins, tokens, medals, paper money, etc. and includes many out of print books, etc.
