whats a half mark?

    I found this coin in an old case, does any one know what this coin is? or why someone would stamp on it?

    Like Dsmith23 said it's most likely German ,as a Mark is a German unit of money . Since there's no date or country it most like is some type of token or game piece .

    It is a wertmark - a type of a local notgelds for an appeal in a shop, bar or local market.

    Yes, it is token money from a shop, restaurant or hotel in Germany. It is no official money.
