Here you go, looks like the owner of the 1997 I've seen before wised up, dropped the starting $3500 price tag and it's now at $305 bucks with 4 days left. Although it does have a reserve, he might be seeing what type of prices it demands for it's value. It's also in a more credible TGP holder with PCGS as the grader.

    A
nd this one looks just as cool as redwin's, has the penny date, just lacks a date for the dime but it's likely a 1997 dime it was struck with which would only make sense any double denomination was done in the same mint year.

Its one thing to offer 7 million bucks and another to actually be serious. Perhaps the person who sent you that msg was just busting your chops because of the insane price it was listed at.

I can't think of a thing I own that I wouldn't unload for 7 million - If someone handed me a check for 7MM that cleared - I'd walk out of my house with my family and a dufflebag, leaving the keys on the table.

    Get real

Personally, I do not believe for 1 second that it was a serious offer. More than likely something submitted as a joke by one of the many fine folks on the many coin forums that know how the seller feels about the coin.

No person in their right mind would ever consider or even entertain the thought of spending 7 Million for a coin thats worth 3 grand tops.

The coin is not a squeeze job as there are many examples available at reasonable prices.

The owner submitted it to ACG simply because he believed (and still does believe) that ACG is the finest (and original) TPG. If I were to become buddies with David Camire of NGC I might prefer them over PCGS.

001-4-4.jpg Why is not on PCGS ( 1996- 1999)or other TPG? Because They FAILED to Convinced of the SAFETY of the coin. On that year 1995 Doubled Die is Very POPULAR ERROR, but I GOT the Monster of all Double Denomination 1995 UNIQUE. The way they grade double denomination is the original details of both coins. Such as Two LIBERTY, Two IN GOD WE TRUST,P Mintmark, VDB, Two Full dates + another attribution as skull break & Two great leaders Lincolnvelt obverse. Now om a reverse UNITED STATES of AMERICA, ONE CENT, ONE DIME, E PLU= Olive Branch plus a Crack die variety. Which ecplain by Mr. Alan hager why he never put a numerical number on this coin such as MS++.This coin will never beat all the major dramatic detals of any Doubled Denomination.
018-2-3-1-1.jpg Try to understand this a Coin Fact Encylopedia.A Double Denomination Error. The most DRAMATIC is the MOST EXPENSIVE.Two Full Dates 1995 Key dates.

I think i just explain well enough How they Grade Double Denomination, If Lack of Details it will consider as common double Denomination. Now If you Price out the 1893 s Morgan Silver Dollar as Very FINE-20 is abou $ 7,000 NOw if the grade is MS 65 The price will be 575,000. See the difference?

But the difference is that collectors have paid $575,000. That is where the price comes from. Not from somebody's imagination.

narcissist: a person who is overly self-involved, and often vain and selfish.

What does it mean to be narcissistic?
It is a personality disorder where a person needs to feel more important then everyone else. Another word for this is egotistic.

I see the Ebay listing expired and nobody bid $8.5 million. No surprise - nice coin, but it's only worth a small fraction of that.

To be fair, I think Redwin's example is the best one I have seen of these. I know he points out some things not really pertinent, (like "broken skull"), but looking at his coin it is demonstrably more complete of both designs than others I have seen for sale.

Do I disagree with your estimate rodeoclown? No, I don't, I am just saying of all of these I have seen on the market, his is better than any others I have seen. If an average one is worth $1000-1500, I do not think $2500 would be unfair at all.

Ok, the rest of you can start throwing tomatoes at me for feeding the troll. :)

Oh, don't get me wrong, I think the coin could easily fetch up to $3000 or so to the right collector willing to pay that much. But 8.5 - 10 million, come on, let's come back to earth and be realistic, with maybe a little common sense.

Like I said, the owner plasters this coin all over every chance he gets, that's narcissism at this point or spamming, whichever you prefer. He's just kidding himself at this point thinking he's gonna set the world record for highest price coin sold ever to date. The coin is a nice example, it has great details, it is unique, but it's not worth millions of dollars and anyone who's willing to pay that much is a freaking moron if you ask me.

You can't claim this coin is one of a kind because every coin is one of a kind when you look at the fine details and every error coin is definitely one of a kind when you look at the details of the errors. Coins are like snowflakes, there are no two identical coins ever, some might start out identical to the naked eye but end up different over time. ;)

**** I wouldnt be oo shocked if someone who REALLY wanted it and had cash to burn paid like 4 or 5 heck even 6k.

But there is a HUGE difference between 5k and 10 million lol.
