What would you trade it for?

Considering that my coin with the most value would be right around $80, that doesn't go very far in the world of firearms. So junk silver would be my way of raising money for another gun. My last junk sale at $34.46 went to a SA Loaded 1911.

That $80 coin could be traded for ammo or accessories, or perhaps a nice used compound or recurve bow.

Got both the bow options plus a crossbow. Current stockpile of ammo is around 20,000 rds. What I am missing is a reloading setup. Maybe by Christmas but $80 doesn't make much of a dent in a progressive with all the accessories.

20,000 rounds. I thought if I added 3,000 more to my current 2,000, I would have plenty.

What if my most expensive coin just happens to be junk silver? ;)

My most valuable coins are SAE's and I wouldn't want to trade them for another coin. I collect them for the bullion value and looks.

I suppose the only way I'd want to trade in this scenario is if my most expensive coin was a coin that I didn't really want, but I bought it because it was drastically underpriced and I knew I could flip it or trade it for profit. I would imagine if a person found themselves in such a position, they wouldn't be in that position for long...

Fair game then. Good one!

PS People, this is a what if? scenario, just play along and have a good time.

I don't mind being boring and incomplete. :)

I have my most valuable coins because I want them. If I didn't want them, I wouldn't have bought them. If I were to trade them off, then I wouldn't have them again so I would want them and I would buy them again. So why not skip the whole trading thing and buy the other item.

Oh, Conder, you're not boring. You may be a bit dry, but I have really enjoyed some of your insight and understanding demonstrated in other posts.

There you go! Exactly how I feel, and exactly why I never sell. If I didn't like it I wouldn't have bought it to begin with. Some coins, (like my US coins), I really don't collect anymore, but that could be just temporary. Maybe I will go back to US coins 20 years from now just like I rotate through different ancient and world coin interests periodically.

To me, the thought of having to tell myself "I USED to own a coin like that" is a terrible, terrible thought.

I'm sure you'd be right at the top of their list of offers they're considering.

You know trading for it is one thing, keeping it is a whole other problem.
