For me the extrinsic value of this coin was reduced to jewelry charm when the hole was made.

    WHOA! Impressive find!

I love roached rarities… thread on my pick coming right now! As to how much I’d pay… hmm… at what you paid I’d gladly grab it.

Nice looking but it has a hole. Personally I wouldn’t have bought it.

$75 all day, any day - I have a lot of Details coins, what I don't have is a Proof 3 Cent Silver.

Unfortunately its been detailed, but not in an area that hits any device's. Next show me another? Show me one not holed, in the condition as this other than the hole, and show me the value.
In a perfect world with unlimited funds....sure I'm down...but for <$32 shipped and sales taxs too. I'm stoked.

Appears that it was popular to wear these little silver pieces as jewelry

How much? I guess that would depend on why. If it was to fill a hole, yeah, I'd spring for it, but with the possibility of reselling it? No. I'd pass.

None of the above. I only buy holed pieces that were used as political tokens. In those cases the hole was required to wear them hung on a ribbon or pinned to a shirt or coat.

The last holed coin I bought was when I was in high school. It was an 1806 half dollar, and I paid $6.50 for it. The piece had original surfaces and graded EF otherwise. I think I sold it for $25 in the 1970s.

I actually have a group of early holed coins. I’d just toss it in the drawer with them. No fixing them. Might as well enjoy regardless
