I don't plan on grading it. It's something I need to sell. It's either this one, the 1880, 81, or the 1885. If the 78 has potential for a 64PL then I should keep her and offload another date.
+1 Its very close. Its almost impossible to judge if a coin is PL or not without seeing in-hand. The mirrors may also be distorted on account of the GSA plastic
Good to know I'm not alone... 63 maybe, but even that's pushing it imo, at least based upon what I can see. I realize things have changed over the years, but I can't help but to think my mentors must be rolling in their graves over the leniency afforded to many coins today.
I can see NGC giving this a 63 with a slight chance at 64 on a good day. As for PL, I'd have to see it in hand, usually it's easier to guess PL from images, if there is a chance of it going DPL. But, guessing between semi-PL and PL is almost impossible from images.
