Very beautiful sentiment. May I suggest she will need even more money in the last 5 years of life when she is completely unable to care for herself. Unless you take her in, if she stays in her house, an around the clock live in will cost about $6,000+ a month. A nice home where she lives with others is $3,000 + per month.
I would say "give it to Brett" but I'm extremely biased and have a vested interest in him. The key is to invest - and diversify. If you have silver, buy gold. If you have both, did you fund your IRA - or have you bought a home? Of course there's always donating it to me - and I'd be ever grateful! I'd invest in something risky, since it was pure windfall.
I'd buy something really nice for my wife. After 35 years with her, I can't think of anything more important to spend it on...not cars, coins or anything else. Bruce
