1-2020 ASE for my Dansco but I won't see it for a while 2-5 2019 ASE with my eBay Bucks 3- Oh Happy day 1837 Half Dime
@Kasai I was thinking the same thing but nothing till the 12th. I won't go to that one because I'll be going to the one in Delaware on the 16th or 17th.
I only went to a few shows last year and probably this year will be similar. I am thinking I will split them up for January, May/Jun and maybe two in Sept-Dec timeframe.
My son who is 8 years old, couldn’t stand it anymore and took his Christmas money & savings to the local coin shop today. He asked that I post his purchases. (When I was 8, I would’ve blown my money on toys. I wouldn’t have been patient enough to save money for 18 months.)
Went to the coin show and bought nine coins. My 'first one' was actually a medieval England Henry III Short Cross Penny Class 7 b-c from 1216-1272 (considering this my first coin bought in the year even though I bought 6 at the same time, as this coin was the first that caught my eye and was in the group I selected --- I probably looked at about 30 coins to select from from that dealer). I will have to get my photo equip out fairly soon and see if I can photo it well. In the meantime, it looks a bit similar to this one, though this one shown has more detail. The other coins I bought with this are a Sassanian Empire Silver Dracum a Byzantine Empire Bronze Scyphate Trachy a Japanese Meiji Silver Shu Gin a Gallenius AE Antonininius Zoo coin a Philip I silver Antonininius with Victory Dancing At two other dealers I bought a 1950 Lincoln cent and a 50th Anniversary Kennedy Half-Dollar Uncirculated Coin Set, like this one: I enjoyed going and finding these.
Every single coin I purchased today was like that. It is sure interesting when you don't go looking for anything in particular but let what is there call out to you. My only thing today was I pretty much had a 250.00 limit, and would have been OK if I did not find anything at all (not too many dealers at this one). I ended up spending 112.00 on my coins, and I really can't see a downside to that, considering what I came back with. All the coins are fun ones for me.
I will receive my first 2020 coin tomorrow. So excited I could bust. It was a coin featured here not long ago. It’s just dripping with sexy!
A while ago I went to a yard sale and I asked the lady if she had any coins and she said her childhood coin collection was in her garage and she had to find it. I gave her my number and she said she would call me after Christmas... She didn't say what was in the collection but I think it will be a fun surprise. Hopefully she remembers!
Either some hole-filler Buffalo Nickels or a Liberty Cap Half Cent. I may have to wait to see my tax return before getting the latter.
