Anybody know what that fancy label pedigree is about? I asked NGC on the chat board and it had to be reviewed to be posted. It has not been posted.

Does anybody know what that hoard is about or from?

Okay, I'm no expert but It appears these came out of some famous Discovery of Silver coins as far back as the 1700's ? It also appears that the market is flooded with these overpriced coins. Remember, " Buy The Coin Not the label". Isn't that what we are taught as collectors ?

They’re not from the Binion hoard.

Yes. I found a gorgeous one I really like that’s in one of these slabs that’s way over priced for the sake of the toning. So was just curious what the label was about but so far nobody knows. I asked NGC and no answer yet.

It is all of the money I spent there. They are holding it for my return.

If you are referring to the Reno Casino Hoard for over 20 years, Rudy, a Reno, Nevada casino worker, traded his own money for Carson City Morgans whenever he spotted them in the coins he sorted through daily. As Morgans grew scarcer, he began “saving” all silver dollars. By Rudy's retirement, he had amassed 4,100 silver dollars including more than 3,312 Morgans. In the hoard, Littleton's buyers discovered scarce “O over S” Morgans, created when a San Francisco reverse die was repunched with an “O”.

I have some silver, graded NGC/MS66 and 67 (4 quarters of the early-mid 50s), but there were/are Morgans and Mercs and Roos also recently slabbed by NGC...all from the Binion Hotel/Casino LV vault collection. They have special labels attesting to this...however legitimate or not, I don't know...but the slabs and coins are quite nice. They were all up for auction several months ago...maybe still here/there...wanted a couple Morgans but they just went too high for me. Conversely and surprisingly, the Washingtons went quite reasonable for their grades/conditions, so bought a few. Something about discovering this bunch in the vault when tearing down the last Binion hotel...but again, who do you believe, anymore...? Have heard the TPGs will custom-make just about any label for a price...don't know for sure. I didn't care...was a good deal for the grades, slabbed, etc.
