what up with these dimes

    Bad photos really hard to tell but I would have to agree with HoosierDaddy looks like heat damage

    I would think with heat there would be some discoloration. This could easily be done on a punch press.

    Edited to add: The cleaner the flame, the less discoloration.

    Looks like Roosevelt has the mumps. Just kidding. Most probably it is due to some form of fire abuse or hazzard.

    Oven heated. Direct flame would discolor.

    What's wrong with them?

    They're screwed up due to some kind of post mint damage.
