Actually that would make it more likely to increase in value. Stone Mountain got very popular when it was targeted
I wonder if the Stone Mountain coin has gone down because of those in the Stone Mountain were Confederates and owned slaves. I don't like to put politics into the value of coins, but I am sure that if it does, many of the coins we own could become worthless.
I adamantly disagree with the posit of the basis for loss of value of the particular coin mentioned, and disagree with the premise as it applies to other pieces and designs that a hobbyist/collector/dealer would apply such reasoning to a decision to add or delete a piece to the collection or sales offerings or not. This is not a numismatic consideration. If a dealer or collector or hobbyist decides to apply such considerations to their purchases, then the dealer or collector or hobbyist should consider that the majority of world coinage is based on politics, and divest of their holdings in entirety, and stay with investing in PM bars. My opinion.
