What type of error is my 1927 p nickel

    There is nothing wrong with this coin. And in the description, I'm thinking you mean to say blank - Well... I don't really know what your talking about. But if you mean there isn't a mint mark, well there shouldn't be one because it was minted in philidelphia.

    Nickels are made of Cupro-Nickel. They contain a bit of copper. That's post mint environmental toning. Not a mint error.

    Your pictures don’t show it to be black. It appears to be a well worn and maybe 1927. Environmental toning and circulation will make them look darker or lighter. Looks normal for a worn buffalo nickel to me.

    No offense intended, but you've been asking a lot of questions (not this one) that can be answered in the Red Book. If you don't have a copy, I think you should invest in one. ~ Chris

    They are issued annually.

    This one really wouldn't be answered by the Red Book, how does it photograph with a white background?

    I see a little darkness on or around the Indian. That's just normal toning.
