I had bought several one ounce gold coins for less then $1,000.00 each all are now worth more then a $1,000.00 each.

1908D no motto St. Gaudens $20 and I still have it. Only had that much to spend by selling a 1947 Mexico 50 peso (1.2 oz gold) that I bought for less than $300 and sold for $1900 :)

Timing is everything.....and a lot of luck

I found an FE clashed with the $20 gold piece before folks even knew what it was. I gave only a few bucks for it but it is now worth well over a $1000.

You can easily pick up a MS67 morgan for well under $1000, especially 1881-S or 1882-S

Gee, it would be nice to have a grand to blow on a single coin. I haven't spent more than AUD$100 on a single coin.

Wow, that certainly takes the cake. Did you find it in small change or bought it outright?
