Local pawn shop has about 4-5 ASE's in the littleton showpacks.

They want $40.00 each for them. I want to buy one, if I can for a fair amount.

What would be a decent offer?

That's very overpriced. I would say $24-$28 is much better.

IDK if the littleton showpack adds any premium, here is what it looks like.

look, i am sure i am going to catch much flak for this....but the littleton packs are THE DUMBEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN. they literally packaged someone elses product and are trying to make it collectibly collectible..? collectible squared? collectible x 2?? i think they should be shot. its a flippin eagle. nothing more nothing less. you pay spot + whatever the going silly premium is. most likely the pawn shop guy wont budge....there is a pawn shop near where i used to work, the same 3 silver BULLION eagles have been sitting there for a 2 years. every day i would walk in while grabbing my coffee from next door and ask how much he wanted for one...SIXTY DOLLARS. yes, and this was from when silver ranged from $32 all the way down to $25. the guy is insane. but i think that is the pawn shop mentality on silver coins. they basically stole it from a junkie for FIVE TIMES FACE (which the junky was super excited about), and are trying to do the same thing to their clients that walk through the door. every day i would walk in and ask him "still $60???" and he would always have that stupid look on his face, "YEEEP'.

I would go no more than $30 since that's about what the online sites are selling them for.

Those look hideous. I hope you are going to break them out of that prison when you buy them.

Ya I'm gonna try to offer $30. The only reason why is one of them in there is a super sweet rainbow toner.

The Littleton cardboard holders (the ones in the hard plastic cases, rather than the soft plastic clamshells) are apparently high in sulfur content, as they always seem to result in strong toning.

I think I would offer $30. I just got a Panda for that, in a plastic case.

$25, maybe up to $30 on the nice toner, but i wouldn't pay more than $25 for the others, they are just bullion.

  13. If they are dated 1996, buy them all. TC

    $28-$30 is a fair price.

    A few dollars over spot.
Frankly I wouldn't even bother unless the shop regularly takes offers for 1/3 off their prices.

My local coin stores sell ASE's for $4-5 over spot. Laragely because of their reputation, I am willing to pay those premiums when buying from them. If I bought from a pawn shop, I'd be looking for a better deal. The most I would offer in a pawn shop might be $3 over spot.

If you really like the rainbow toner, you should take that into consideration during your haggling.

As for the Littleton holder, it's worthless...

I was gonna say pretty much what blaubart said. No premium for a Littleton package but they are going to think there is one.

Who on earth would pay $7.50 over spot on a bullion eagle while silver prices CONTINUE TO DROP? Silver would have to rise 20-30% and push through multiple resistance levels to break even on resale, assuming spot quits falling. I cannot fathom the impatience of buyers these days.

It's a bullion product! Hasn't the spectacular rise and collapse of spot silver over the past couple years taught people anything?

Obviously it hasn't taught anybody anything, or maybe it has? One thing that I know rings true for me is this, I'd rather have that 1oz of silver in my hand than a share of SLV or any of the other digital imaged share Wall Street is selling.

Although I agree with ASEs being silver bullion. I still also believe they hold a higher value to colllectors. Yeah Yeah I know that the proofs are more for collecting but almost anywhere that sells them puts a price higher than spot on them. My opinion on ASE collecting is IF I get some at spot. I dont mind spending a bit more for another one if its super nice. Most I have spent on some are $28. Which were 2013s.
