I like the West Point Bicentennial dollar. It was the first one I bought, and that may be why it is my favorite.

    (regarding '84 tonner)

What amazes me is that these coins can be had today for way less than what the mint issued them back in '84. $28 for one of these was a little steep at that time considering the demands and responsibilities of family and a new house.

    In gold

I guess if I had to pick just one it would be the gold 1999-W George Washington $5.
plus it is a semi low mintage :thumb:

This one. I wish we had a bi-metalic circulating coin (then we could drop both the one & five dollar bills :D).

I also like the Columbus Dollar, with the "half sailing ship, half space shuttle" look.

I can still kick myself today for not buying one of those when I had the chance. Back in 2004 or 2005 (can't remember the year) I had a chance to buy the proof one for $600, but I was too busy buying other stuff. Now if I only had a do-over, I would definitely do it over and buy that one.

Totally missed the boat on that one myself Joe. Had a chance, just didn't pull the trigger. And now we have a truly classic and unique coin as it's the only us coin minted in two separate metals.

I salute Ira Hayes and his service to protect our freedom. Thank you for making me take a deeper look at the men that raised the American flag at Iwo Jima. I am native american, my son is a marine. My passion for this coin is deeper than before.
