What? I thought you are a long-time, experienced, opinionated, and knowledgeable coin dealer. Just a collector? One would think by your posting record that you are VERY OVERLY QUALIFIED on many subjects. Nevertheless, is there any category of numismatics (besides contradicting opinions on CT) that you are not interested in? For example: Easy - I'm not interested in damaged items unless they came from a Mint or National/International Bank note printer. Now there must be something you can add...I'm interested
Did you mean the new "Cent?" I'm glad many at the turn of the century and before decided to save some of the newly minted Cents. It's all relative
Ok kurt, I'm gonna need one of your long babbling diatribes explaining your stance on one of the most beautiful coins in existence please
No. I don't let subjective preferences interfere with my learning process. "Belief" is the enemy of scholarship.
I won't buy them, but I'd research them. "Cull" is a term used only by those lacking in curiosity; you can learn something from everything if you're really interested in learning.
So..."cull" has one obscure (as in hardly ever used) meaning and you wish to hang your hat on that... You win! Every coin has a story to tell... You guys can keep examining and debating ______ coins and learning (?) from them. Business must be slow in the shop today. Hope it picks up for you. Really I do.
Yes Morgan dollars aren't the best design, but I like the size and heft of them. I always thought Barber series were uglier.
I love 18th and 19th c contemporary counterfeit coins as well. I buy them when I see them and their usually a quick sell
I too like the dark side of coins lol. Unfortunatly, my only example is an 1870 counterfeit shield nickel. Its 1870 number 1 listed in Fletchers, with hand engraved dies.
