I don't know. That's how I received it. I know it's not a proof set, but was wondering if it might be a SMS.
How do you know it isn't a proof set? It sure looks like it could be. I'm guessing that the Kennedy was removed because it was an "Accented Hair" variety. Chris
There were only about 50 Half Dollars made for the SMS - Special Mint Set for 1964.. ultra rare If yours is the Special Mint Set it would not include it. So you have the Silver Mint Set.. oh this is confusing Or it is the proof set
Your set looks like a proof set. I'm guessing the Kennedy was either in really nice condition (high grade/cameo/etc.) or it was an accented hair variety. Someone removed it to be graded, but the others weren't worth it. The proof set itself isn't worth a whole lot, so enjoy the coins for what they are.
Rick, if you're still wondering, get a good pic of the reverse of the quarteraand no can tell you from that for sure if its a proof. It looks like a proof set tho.
