    It doesn't look like an Error . Looks someone or something chewed up that area . It's all chopped up . I'm going with PMD or Post Mint Damage . Sorry .

    It appears to be damage from having been clamped in a vise.

    Yep. That's a good example of a vise coin.

    Is that what they called it on error-ref.com?
