What kind of damage is this or is it??

    Is it PMD? Maybe lamination? Is that slag on the bottom of the rim or more damage?

    I have to first assume PMD because it's difficult to imagine a die failure mode which would look like that. The two locations of the problems exactly opposite each other on the reverse tends to support the PMD theory.

    Such a shame that someone at some point unknowingly killed the numismatic value of this coin.

    With the two rim damage areas 180° apart I wouldn't be surprised if that coin was in a holder of some sort (belt buckle?) at one time.

    Show a pic of edge it will tell us the most... Cause it looks like it's a scrape or ding and your major fields are as scratch

    Yes a belt buckle or in some form of a jewelry pin piece ,etc.
