This question popped into my head and I'm curious as to what is the most popular collecting niche here..
I voted US Coins, based on the word "Primary" (& my tonnage versus the others), with the caveat that I am not bare in any of those categories.
I said other, my main focus is pre Federal, colonial and state coinage. Particularly Connecticut coppers but I dabble in others as well.
Fifty years I had been a fully content US collector….. Then I discovered CT and have since wondered off the straight and narrow.
I'm a real sucker for pretty shiny coins. I like cents, dimes (Pre-FDR), quarters, halves, and American Silver Eagle One Ounce Proof Coins and Uncirculated ones as well. Ever since I bought Mercanti's American Silver Eagles book, "American Silver Eagles, A Guide to the U.S. Bullion Coin Program, 4th Edition.
@Randy Abercrombie, Randy, aren't we a little nuts for being up this early on a Sunday morning messing with CT!
this is the boat I find myself in. Several ancients without any real focus, foreign, and US. I do have a couple collection ls I am working on with US coins, but I have affordable ones for those. That’s when my attention starts to wander.
As a side collection I am accumulating coin club tokens and medals as well as spinner tokens. I like o collect things that I know I will never get a complete "set" of. I don't even know how many of these items have been produced, but I bet it is a boat load!!
