I sure need to foray into Edward VI silver once the more, I owned a sterling shilling once an' still regret selling it. From memory the earliest "Christian" dates on an English coin were on shillings and tanners in Roman numerals in 1549 - but for some reason I think those were still the "coppernose" issues that were 2/3rds fine. Queen Elizabeth and Thomas Gresham take the credit for returning England to the sterling standard - but it actually returned during the reign of Edward VI.
In a date form that a normal person can read today without knowing the complete history of ancient times... This one...
Ummm okay, yah I admit that it is a bit unofficial ... => but I'm pretty sure that having an "Antelope walkin' right" is basically like sayin' that you are lookin' at a 1650 BC scarub!!? ... okay fine ... the whole "dated" thingy is a bit blurry ... eh?
