    I hope that this qualifies.

It is a Gold Plated, Bronze, Cowry shell from China.
Cowry shells were used as 'currency' from before 1600 B.C.,

Phase 1. Beginning of Cowry-use ---Neolithic era (3300-2000 BC)
So, yes, my 'coins' could be 5000 years old.

Carthago Does this look infected to you?

No longer in my collection focus, but I keep it anyway as a curious little piece and example of early coinage.

IONIA, Uncertain. Circa 600-550 BC. EL 1/24 Stater (6mm, 0.50 g). Uncertain figural type (head of griffin or boar?) / Incuse punch.

Your photos are fantastic. The coins display as well as any large work of art. You have raised the bar. During the winter I may have to take up the challenge of doing the same with some of my coins. Not sure I will be able to achieve that high a level, but you give me something to aim for.
