I very much concur with you about the Seated Liberty design! :thumb:

Seated Liberty like Barbers loose their charm (for me) because the same design was applied to multiple denominations only at different scales.

Why come into a thread titled "least favorite" and then complain it isn't more positive?

My top 5 are probably these most disliked by me, but to each his/her own.

    1. Susan B Anthony Dollars
    2. Post 1983 Lincoln Cents (Copper plated Zinc)
    3. About 40 out of 50 of the State Quarters
    4. Most of the Preidential Dollars
    5. Clad Roosevelt Dimes

When I first read this I thought you were being sarcastic. (Are you being sarcastic?) I think of the Buffalo nickel, particularly the obverse, as being one of the most aggressively sculptural in our coinage's history. The Indian's profile commands the entire obverse and is almost grotesque in the force of its features. Just compare it to the Liberty V or the Shield.

I could see you disliking it for any number of other reasons, but not for being flat and boring!

Funny, as a kid I detested the buffalo nickel because all I had & what would be given to me were worn down/slick buffs. Now that I am older & can afford better coins I got a 1913 MS62 T1 Buff, not rare by any means but nice & I think its beautiful. My opinion changed when I was able to get a higher grade example.

Still my choice stands on the earlier post of mine here.

And you wonder why you aren't taken seriously in this forum.

These might be two of the most artistic and beloved designs ever. They both sell like hot cakes, so I guess a lot of people disagree with you.

So true! Merc dimes (a misnomer, I know) are my favorite US issue, and perhaps the single most beautiful US coin design of all. To have them replaced by the uninspired Roosevelt deign was a travesty!

Come to think of it, almost any US coin with a president on it is inferior to earlier issues.

Currently saving up to buy my first turban head. Might be another year or two but I'm determined to buy one.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The WLH looks nice in high grades:

But once worn, it looks awful.

Even in low grades, most of the other series look nice.
