Could not agree with ND86 and Dragon (sorry wanted to quote both but could not figure out how to do it). I can speak from personal experice and from what i have read on Coin TAlk . I read a post in here from one that was advised that he need only to return the damaged coin in the silver anniversary eagle sets for an exchange. This was supposedly a supervisor who advised them to do this. They send only the damaged coins in and after a wait they sent them back unexchanged stating that they could not accept partial sets. Now i have ordered only 4 things from the mint . One order I have, two others I think will get and the other, well I will get to that in a minute. Now even I know that on a set one has to return the entire set even if you are dissatisfied with only one coin. I have never even come close to sending something back but if i know this, then you would expect a customer rep who does this for a living could give correct information to someone who has spent their money and expect just decent service I ordered a anniversary gold set a little to late and never expected to get it even though most middle level supervisor told me after numerous calls trying to get my billing address straight "oh yes you will get it ..la la la la " After a while I realized that i was not going to get it but just out of spite I did not cancel my order. I wanted it to go down on their stats as an order that they "oversold" and not one that was canceled by the customer. I look today and it has Order Status: your order has been shipped Item Status: Item is no longer available Credit card has not been zapped. UNBELIEVABLE at least I do not have to worry about cancelling it now.:goofer:
The same thing happened to me I was so happy when i saw my order was shipped. I then looked down to see the item status no longer available. I immediatly called my credit card company to see if the charge was on there and it wasn't. I waited till 8 to call the mint to verify and was told you were put on a next in line status and they sold out. I've had about three or four different ship dates and my order was in process. I just wish I had known earlier so I could have purchased some other products. Oh well guess it wasnt meant to be. Thanks to all of you for the help and for listening.
