I know this is a medal and not a coin but can someone please tell me what they think. I thought maybe a world coin expert might know. Thanks
For long-lasting work. Rs.Worker m. Oak branch, laurel wreath and hammer between anvil and hive, next to engraving field ('Somebody's 1906 for 25 years' work)
I just googled the first few words on the obverse and google image searched it. I'm sure if you do a little more digging you can find what company it came from.
But I'm more interested as to who the medal honors.......conjoining busts of Who? Dead on shots of the piece would render a better idea of the lettering, OP.
My guess is the founders of the company. I found a bronze version for 10 years service. It was on a German auction site. It is a nice looking piece.
Actually this one is not Hamburger, but Harburger Gummi-Kamm Co (Harburger rubber comb co.) and the pictures are supposed to be of the founders of Germany's first hard-rubber company, therefore presumably two of Johannes Bücking, H. W. Maurien, and Heinrich Christian Meyer who founded the Harburger company. Actually, the names appear to be Meyer and Braun (?) at the bottom of the medal, but I'd need a better-lit picture of the bottom to read them properly. The employee feted for 25 years "true service" appears to be one W. Schrader.
Probably Traun, see here (German): https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Justus_Friedrich_Traun Christian
