What's this line going through with the letters that somebody take a knife or something sharp to this coin ?

Close... Metal fingers of the coin rolling and wrapping machines are notorious for leaving circular scrapes on the end coin. During their long lives most coins get the "privilege" of being the end coin at least once

I will say that the line is caused by a worn die.
    Die Deterioration strike.

Definitely not a crack. Scratch/Coin Roller if it's indented, or ridge ring from a worn die if it's raised. Hard to tell from the pics but in either case it's a spender. Hope this helps
