Hi all...I'm usually over on the Paper Money forum, but I've got an old coin that a friend asked me to identify and value, and I was hoping somebody over here could help me with that.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I'm guessing the value will be "not much in that condition", but it'd be nice to have confirmation from someone who actually knows what the thing is.

The original poster's 1825 8 maravedis coin has an unusual obverse mintmark 'J' for Jubia, Spain.

The Jubia mint operated from 1811 to 1869 and struck only copper coins.

    :)
