It is a nickel
Where is there a 5 over S?
I think I see your s. Just above the a of States. Damaged or stained. Not a mint error
Is that the same nickel in those 2 reverses you up loaded? It almost seems like 1 is more beaten up than the other. If that IS the same coin,,,,,, then wholly Cow, it truly is amazing how much using light and a different angle can change a coin's appearance.
appears to be an Abit wavy lots of glare!!!!
It is a nickel.
Think about your poll before you post it.
Or the stain after the five shaped like an s. Also not mint error, just damage
Please create your threads over at the Error Coins forum of CoinTalk.. Not the What's it worth forum.. First find out what you have and worry about value last. Most coins in circulation have circulation wear and damage. That will only make the coin face value.
What it is is a nickel. As for can it be?, yes it's a nickel. Congratulations and welcome to CT.
It really WANTS to be a quarter. But that just can't happen.
You need to post better pictures...out of focus shots make it too hard to see what you are talking about...Spark
