Their composition is 75% copper and 25% nickel. The quarter is one of the "America the Beautiful" series that replaced the "States Quarters" series. These coins intended for circulation are also CuNi (clad) composition, but there are also two proof versions, one in clad and one in silver. The nickel is only worth face value.
