Don't think so ... That is a coin from Zeeland, one of the Dutch provinces. (The Danish "Sealand" is spelled "Sjælland".) The "2 S" denomination means double stuiver, I think. The oldest coins I have come across in circulation were the 1948/49 "Bank deutscher Länder" pieces (in the Federal Republic of Germany), and some Swiss coins which were almost 100 years old (don't remember exactly which year). Growing up in upstate NY you could find this coin at every coin shop in the state almost. Here one from the Dutch west indies trading company that most call it the New York penny.as so many Dutch people were living there at the time in what now called New York city:kewl:
