  1. What is the highest grade of UNC note with pin holes?

    I have a 1899 $1 PCGS graded 63 with a comment of pin holes.

The grade is in Italics, which is code for APPARENT.

You will usually see comments like this when there is a major issue, but
If i understand your question correctly, your asking what is the highest
Grade of a not with pinholes or staples, i have seen up to a 66, but
With that said chances of getting a PPQ or EPQ grade are slim to none.

So italics is like details on a slabbed coin?

Comments, are usually placed on the back to indicate if theres a problem
Sometimes you have to look very hard as some can be hidden pretty
    Well.

First you have to know that the italics grade number means APPARENT because not every collector knows this, and second, you have to hope an unscrupulous seller hasn’t removed the notations from the back of the holder. PCGS uses an exposed (unprotected) paper label.

I have a few Graded bills and took them out and found out none of them are Italics graded.

Simple, and what all collectors should do, you can actually look up notes
With there serial numbers through the TPG, questions or not.

  12. Is PCGS apparent the same as PMG NET grade?
