What is the German "Lamb" numerical system?

Looking in to older German coins for the first time and I am seeing a lot of references to "Lamb", ex: "Lamb 567.4", "1918 WEIMAR LAMB-567.4 IRON" etc.

I've searched for this Lamb catalog/book/system but cant find anything on it. I'm guessing its similar to the Freidberg system for US Currency.

Anyone have any links they can direct me to look in to it?

    Thanks

Looks like Robert A. Lamb is a publisher of coin catalogs maybe. I saw one for Nicaragua coins too.

From what I have seen, most of the time, at least for me, I find lamb numbers on Notgeld.
