What is the Future, Hard or Electronic Currency?

    My generation carefully noted Scrooge McDuck diving into his money bin and cavorting among the doubloons. He knew every coin by heart.

    We learned hard money and PM's in your possession from a 10c comic book.

    I think currency will become less common, but it's hard to see it completely disappearing anytime soon. There are many people who are totally comfortable having all their transactions be digital and who hardly ever use cash, but there are just as many who refuse to do anything financial online. It may get to the point where using cash at the store is about as common as using a check is now - everyone looks at you weird, but people still do it. There are too many people who don't trust the technology, the government, the system, whatever to give up their physical currency.
