Being relitively new to "serious" coin collecting I am reading the book "The Coin Collector's Survival Manual" by Scott A. Travers. In Chapter 4 he mentions ICG and how they deal with some of the highest volume of high grade modern US coins. I hardly ever hear anyone on cointalk mention this TGP. If they are doing so much volume how come I have a very difficult time turing up their name in a forum search? Also what does the CDN Coin Market Indicator % mean in the 4th previous post above?
I couldn't agree with you more. PCGS customer service stinks. I sent an email to stating I was thinking of sending a full collection to them to grade. Fees would of been like 800 bucks. I asked if I could send them in the coin book without getting charged extra for taking the coins out of the book. Not even the common courtesty of a reply. They will never see another coin submission from me again. Unfortunately they do seem to bring higher prices for coins in their slab. I think the biggest reason for this is the Registry sets. PCGS only lets coins graded from PCGS in their Registry Ses. NGC lets both PCGS and NGC coins in their Registry Sets. Bottom line. NGC Customer Service much better, grading is quite good and I really like their holders better. NGC is my opinion.
I have never heard of this HSN show. I rarely watch that chanel, but sometimes the wife does. Ill have to ask her to get my attention when that show is on. Thanks.
If you want to be sent into total shock & disbelief, watch it once. If you don't want to get upset that there are folks like these that take advantage of those that think they are buying good investment coins, than don't watch. It's not even good for a laugh for me anymore, because their approach is nothing short of out right lying and deception.
