It's gonna take a little while for it to come back in the PCGS "China" holder, customs and all.

If it was sent in and certified, wouldn't it show up on the PCGS or NGC site?

I am guessing its just another "hit and run" on CT. New member has a coin worth a fortune, "he will show us with the PROOF!", and we never even get to say goodbye before he is gone.......

Seems to me, because he was so sure it was the no mint mark proof and has received ridiculous offers for it, he would come back with photos of it in the slab just to say, "I told you so!"

But then again, he might have received the grade for it, and was disappointed to find it isn't a proof, and therefore.... ;)

I wonder how many users in the CT database have only 1-10 posts and if they ever get purged...

At the moment CoinTalk has 16,935 members.

4,268 members have only one post.

12,450 members have ten posts or less (including the 4,268 that have only one post).

4,485 members have more than ten posts.

That means that 73.52% of CoinTalk members have ten posts or less.

We get a LOT of drive-by posters here.

While I may be somewhat new to coin collecting as a hobby, I wasn't born yesterday.

Think about it. He came here telling this story of two offers, one for $5k that wasn't high enough for him, and one for $15k if the coin was what he claimed it to be. What he wanted is for someone to beat the $5k offer. Based on the fact that he said he sent pictures (presumably better than the one he posted) to a specialist, but never posted better pictures here, I believe he was trying to scam you guys.

I think he left when he realized you guys were smarter than he assumed...

Good point. It would explain why he got mad when we told him he would be dumb to not take the $5,000 offer, he wanted someone here to get excited and beat it. :(

Lol, but that is the fun of being a Cubs fan, right? What other fans would put up with such a losing streak? Its easy to be a fan of the Yankees who buy themselves a world series ring every once in a while. Only a true fan sticks by their team regardless of outcomes. :)

    You got that right.

Not only that, but the Yankees must be terrible, Babe left them for Boston 109.gif

Uh, Boston sold the Babe to the Yanks, causing "the curse of the Bambino".

Even when the outcome is predictable, disappointing and unvarying? When even Leo the lip can change your culture, you need to really wonder.

While this is true...Babe also left the Yankees for Boston, so you are both right. Ruth joined the Boston Braves in 1935 for one (horrible) season.
