Sorry that happened to you Peter. There's no need for that kind of tactic on the part of the local police/sheriff/process server.

I'm not upset at the Constable, he was just doing the job that Larry Shepherd sent him to do. I imagine that the Constable is accustomed to dealing with a different type of people than me and my family.

Yeah, but perform the task at a more reasonable hour. Was it really necessary to serve you so early in the morning? Such a tactic is intimidating in nature.

The reason they come that early is that you are more likely to be home at 7:30 AM, so they can effectively serve you. If they come during the day most people are at work, and they must make another trip back to your house to attempt to serve you They don't want to come back a second or a third time. Some jurisdictions allow substituted service, but that's another story.

Has duly been adjoined the ranks of those transplanted Floridians that were perfidiously performing the same thing a decade ago to the many of us. That whole episode left a lasting impression of the coin collecting industry as well as several firms, personalities and not the least - the profane side of what should be an enjoyable hobby.

It's not ugly until Fox News shows up at Peter's house at 7:30AM.

Yes but they can get the ip addresses and unless the posters only posted from public wifi sites you can trace the ip back to the person. That is how the recording industry sued users of napster. I read the posts, and didn't see anything worthy of legal action, in my non professional opinion. If you are the director of a public organization I believe this allows a greater leeway as to discussions about the person. As to the affair question, simply having a personal relationship with someone else in the cooperation is not enough to fire someone. There would have to be a level of misconduct to fire some, I.e. Sleep with me or you are fired. I have no idea what happened but the lawsuit will be public record and we should all find out when everything is said and done.

Yup, Maine is a very special state. And special is NOT in air-quotes.

All those guns do come in handy:

Maine had the lowest violent crime rate out of the 50 states
Maine also had the least amount of residents incarcerated.

Plus, its just a really beautiful state.

You're really not describing the situation. Are you saying that Larry wants to sue CoinTalk along with the ANA?
