I'm not sure what you are asking for, but rotated? A standard coin alignment will have the obverse and reverse flipped over while a metal alignment will be in the same direction anything else would be considered rotated and is described in degrees.
I'm just learning about error coins and I think I'm obsessed, My husband and I went to the bank yesterday to make a deposit, he was driving so he was at the speaker "the TUBE" and I begged him to ask the teller if she had any half dollars "she did" AND I bought them....This is one..... He still thinks I'm crazy!!!!!
By convention, it's called a rotated reverse. This is even the case when it is known (due to the stamping method) that the obverse was what rotated.
An easy way to check the degree of rotation is to put the coin in a 2x2 cardboard holder. Align the motto as close as you can with the straight edge of the holder then flip it in a coin turn.
the coin looks like a spy coin where one coin was cut to allow another to fit in the back ... I bet if you drop it ..it will give a hollow, thud sound plus the reserve looks like a higher relief design compared to the 96 lower relief google - spy coin if you want more info ...... snowman
Ugh! One says 45⊙. Ones says 240⊙ω.... A very fine coin...what is the proper degree of rotation???? Measuring clockwise??? If it's up for sale let us know, know several people on here that would jump on it.... Keep up the hunt!!!
It's counterclockwise. I think I'm wrong the 240 degree guess. I think it should be measured with the reverse facing down then counterclockwise. It is a bit confusing! But we can see in the image that it is indeed a rotated rev. I don't think it's a spy or magicians coin but who knows! BonnieSue has the answer!
